Treehouse by Tham & Videgard Hansson is Almost Invisible

“All the best stories in the world are but one story in reality – the story of escape. It is the only thing which interests us all and at all times, how to escape.”  Walter Bagehot

The exterior of this beautiful tree house creates a feeling of space and weightlessness. By reflecting its surroundings, the aptly coined ‘Mirrorcube’ remains more or less invisible wherever it’s mounted.

Mirrorcube is a camouflaged sanctuary among the trees. From a distance it is almost impossible to spot since it melts into its surrounding environment. An infrared film, invisible to humans but highly visible to birds has been installed in the glass.

At first it might seem as if the Mirrorcube defies the laws of gravity as it’s soaring in the air. Come close enough and you will see that the cube is safely anchored in its host-tree. Wires anchored in the ground provide additional stability. A ropebridge leads up to the entrance and completes the contemporary design.

Because we all need to escape a little sometimes!ImageImageImageImageImageImage
